An article with plenty in it for any IB DP Geographer (educator or student). The BBC has some great ‘side projects’ such as BBC Future and BBC Ideas (more about that one in the next issue) which include interesting approaches and ‘thoughts’. A lot of them are useful for one of the 4 Ps → possibilities.
Updates
I will be speaking at the 2022 Geographical Association Annual Conference at the University of Surrey in Guildford. On the Tuesday I am leading a session on using the work of contemporary photographers in the Geography classroom. On the Wednesday I am involved with a session presented by the Financial Times. I will also be at the TeachMeet and the ‘BeerMeet’ after that.
I believe that the Annual Conference is some of the best PD that money can buy. This year you can even join online as part of the ‘hybrid’ conference. Book your place here.

A heartfelt recommendation for something that I have only been using for a week or so myself. With travel opportunities (hopefully) broadening as time goes on I am starting to plan some trips. Wanderlog allows you to bring all your ideas together into one place (things you want to visit, places you want to eat, etc) and to start to formulate a plan. You can also collaborate with other people.

How do you know what you don’t know? is about spreading some of the things that I am finding useful and sharing it in an easily accessible and digestible way.

The first item will be for all geographers based on bigger ideas and everyday geographies. The idea behind the second item is something that is more focused on the needs of IB DP geographers, educators and students. The item will be linked to the syllabus but other geography educators and students may find it useful too. The third section is a quick update on something I am working on. New content added to, or refreshed on geographyalltheway, something I have recently written, or am involved in. The fourth and final item will be a bit more random. It will be a recommendation. Probably a bit techie, an app, an online service, or similar.

The ‘How do you know what you don’t know?’ newsletter is free, and isn’t (just) for geographyalltheway subscribers. I will try to keep the links to content behind the geographyalltheway.com paywall to an absolute minimum!
